Henri Giraud Champagne, a house managed by Claude Giraud from an old family settled in Aÿ for many generations, on a vineyard mainly located on the mountain of Aÿ. Aÿ, a prestigious name forever linked to the region’s history, whose wines have been ranked among the world’s best wines for at least 10 centuries. Kings of France always wished to own a vineyard in Aÿ. Henri IV, King of France, even was called “Sir of Aÿ”. Until 1887, wine from the Champagne region were called “wines of Aÿ”, and after this date, they acquired the designation “Champagne”. Today, 323 Champagne wines can produce Champagne, but only 17 are legally classified “Grands Crus”. Aÿ, classified Grand Cru, is the geographic, qualitative, and historic heart of the Champagne region. The vine on this mythic land are rooted in a deep calcareous soil, to draw from it extraordinary expressions that are mineral and floral.
A highly appetising strawberry colour, with orange highlights giving substance to this beautiful fabric. The fine, lively bubbles release a handsome bubble trail with a pretty pink touch. Nose An intense, spirited nose, with crushed strawberry and biscuit dominating a background of spices and grenadine juice. This opens to rich flower aromas, roses and peonies, then aniseed, oak and undergrowth, revealing the ageing and maturing process. To the palate Initially crisp and quite fresh, almost supple, with delicate effervescence; then the body follows. The blend is rich and mellow, with an agreeable hint of acidity. The finish, smooth, fluid and crisp, prolongs the fine roundness of the wine in a pleasurable manner.. best for gourmet aperitifs and those intimate moments.
